Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I set up an account?

​

Setting up an account is easy and takes only 2 steps. 

​

Step 1 - If you are not already a member then clicking on any of the links in the top menu or the log in button at the top right will bring up the log-in menu. You will see a message that says "New to this site? Sign up". Click the Sign Up link (or Click Here) to take you to the new member sign up. Please enter your details to become a member of the site.

 

Step 2 - After you have signed up to be a member click the "Home" button. This will bring up the membership options - Annual, Monthly and Free Trial options. Signing up for the paid options will require you to input your payment method (credit card) for your membership.

How do I log in/log out?

​

You can log in by clicking the "Log In" button in the top right corner. This will bring up the options to sign in via email, Google or Facebook. Enter the password associated with this account and you will be logged in.

You can log out by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner to access the "Member menu". From here you can click "Log Out".

​

How do subscriptions and payments work?

There is the option to sign up for both a monthly or annual membership to Co-Reg Community. At the time when you sign up, the system will ask you for a method of payment (credit card) to be associated with the account. Once completed the membership is set to auto-renew either monthly or annually until the user cancels their account. Please see our Cancellation and Refund Policy for more details.

How do I subscribe to a blog/forum?

​

For both Blogs and Forums, you can access the options menu by clicking the 3-dot icon in the top right corner of the post. In this menu, you will see the options to follow/unfollow a post, as well as to share or to pin a post. 

​

How do I 'Follow' another member?

​

You can follow another member by clicking their name in any blog/forum post or by searching for them in the member directory under Forum - Members. You can then click "Follow" to be notified of any posts and posts this member leaves on Co-Reg Community.

Where can I check notifications?

​

You can see your notifications by clicking the bell icon in the top right corner (to the left of your profile picture). Alternatively, you can open the member menu by clicking on the down arrow in the top right corner, selecting "Profile". Scroll down and select "Notifications". Clicking on the notification will take you to the corresponding post area.

Where can I check my blog posts/comments/Likes?

​

You can check on or find any blog posts/comments under your member profile. Open the member menu by clicking on the down arrow in the top right corner and select "Profile". Scroll down and select "Blogs Posts", "Blog Likes" or "Blog Comments". This will bring up a list of all of your blog posts, likes and comments. Clicking on the notification will take you to the corresponding post area.

Where can I check my forum posts?

​

In a similar way to Blog posts, you can check on or find any Forum posts/comments under your member profile. Open the member menu by clicking on the down arrow in the top right corner and select "Profile". Scroll down and select "Forum Posts" or "Forum Comments". This will bring up a list of all of your Forum posts and comments. Clicking on the notification will take you to the corresponding post area.

Where can I find my favourited files?

​

Any files that you favourite in the Resource Archive can be found in one place. Open the member menu by clicking on the down arrow in the top right corner and select "Profile". Scroll down and select "Files". This will bring up a list of all of your favourited files. Here you will have full access to view, share and download the files by either clicking the file to open it or by accessing the options menu by clicking the 3-dot icon to the right of the file.

How do I add content or contribute to the site?

 

The content moderation process of Co-Reg Community does not currently allow direct uploading to the site. However, content for the website can be submitted via the following form. This form can also be accessed by a link on the "Video Archive" and "Resource Archive" pages and by the "User Upload Form" Link at the bottom of every page. Please be aware that the maximum file size that can be uploaded is 100 MB and a maximum of 5 files per upload. The moderation process may take 1 - 2 business days so please allow time for notification of your content to be added to the site.

How do I comment on a video, blog or forum?

​

Blogs/Forums - Comment on a forum or blog post by scrolling down to the bottom of the article. Here you will find the comment box. Click in the box to write your comment. Click the + icon to the left and then either the camera or the video icons to add in pictures or videos to your comment. 

​

Videos - To comment on a video simply click either the “Get the Conversation Started” Button that appears or hover over the speech bubble icon in the top right corner of the video and click to bring up the comments. Here you can see all previous comments. You can sort the comments by “Newest”, “Top Comments” or “Timestamp” by clicking the drop-down menu at the top. Type your comment and click the send button or press enter to post it. You can also click the 3-bar icon at the top left of the comment box to access more options such as those for leaving personal notes.

How can I change my privacy settings?

​

You can change the privacy settings of your account at any time. To do this open the member menu by pressing the down arrow in the top right corner and select "profile". Next, click the 3-dot icon to the top right of your profile picture and select "Make Profile Private"/"Make Profile Public".

  

Please be aware that if you choose to make your profile private:

  • Other members will no longer see your public profile

  • You won’t be able to follow members

  • You won’t be able to like or comment on posts.

Click "Cancel" or "Confirm"  in response to the warning message that appears when changing your privacy settings.

​

How do I change my notification settings?

​

You can change the notification settings of your account at any time. To do this open the member menu by pressing the down arrow in the top right corner and select "profile". Next, click the "Settings" option on the left side. In the settings menu, you can change your notification settings for likes, comments and follows for both blogs and forums. To do this click the switch button to the right of each notification setting (Tick = On, Minus = Off). From this menu, you can also subscribe and unsubscribe to/from the blog.

What is a "Persona"?

​

To make it easier for users to find content that is suitable for them in their contexts the website was split into different "personas". This is why you see content under the "My Self-Reg" menu, as well as in blogs, forums and video galleries sorted into personas such as Schools, Parents and Researchers for example. This structure is not intended to exclude users from particular areas. Please feel free to browse all areas of Co-Reg Community, this is your space.

Can I download the content from the website?

​

Some content on this site is considered Downloadable Content (DLC). The video content of this site is not considered DLC. Files from the "Resource Archive" and from the "Featured Resources" galleries can be downloaded. Clicking the 3-dot icon to the right of a file in the resource archive will bring up the option to download the file. Alternatively, you can find the option to download or save the file by viewing the file and right-clicking to bring up the options from within your browser or PDF viewer.

Please note that downloading resources from the website does not impart any copyright to the user and the download of this content is intended for personal and educational purposes. Any right to modify, redistribute, repackage or re-sell this content remains with TMC Ltd.

How do I cancel my subscription?

​Cancellations can be submitted via email at coregcommunity@self-reg.ca. Please see our Cancellation and Refund Policy for more details.

What are Badges? Why do people have them?

Badges are used to distinguish certain members of the community. Badges will appear underneath a member's profile when they comment in the stories and Forums and are used to show a member's experience in Self-Reg. Based on the four journeys as outlined in "Self-Reg Schools: A Handbook for Educators" there are four badges to describe Self-Reg experience in increasing order: Seeds, Sunrise, Quilt and Haven. There is an additional badge to identify TMC Team Members. Clicking on a member's profile will bring up their information including a description of their badge.

How do I get a badge?

Co-Reg Community badges are awarded based on certain criteria. If you meet any of the following criteria you can send an email to coregcommunity@self-reg.ca and request a badge to be added to your profile:

Seeds - A member who has completed either the Foundations Certificate Program, Early Childhood Development Program or Leadership for Self-Reg Schools Program

​

Sunrise - A member who has completed our Self-Reg Facilitator's Program.

​

Quilt - A member who is an official TMC Facilitator or Presenter.

​

Haven - A member who has the most experience with Self-Reg. These members are Self-Reg experts and this badge is reserved for members such as our Executive Director.
